Shrink Wrap Supplies
Shrink Wrap Supplies - Shrink Packaging Materials and Machines
Heat shrink wrap is a material that shrinks when heat is applied. The plastic retains its new shape even after it has cooled. This material can be used as a protective covering and as a method of joining two or more items together. It is used worldwide in various packaging applications.
The machines and devices commonly used for heat shrink packaging include a handheld heat guns, I-Bar sealers, L-Bar sealers, and shrink tunnels. These devices seal the products inside the shrink wrap material and supply the heat needed to shrink the plastic around the products. Sealers range from manual to fully automatic heat sealers.
Shrink Wrap Packaging Materials
Materials for shrink wrapping can come in many different forms, made from many different materials. Standard materials are polyolefin, polyethylene, polypropylene, or PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride). Each type is for specific applications. Polyolefin film is for retail packaging and food packaging. Polyethylene and polypropylene are thicker films for heavier products. PVC shrink film is for shrink banding around bottles and retail packaging.
Centerfold Heat Shrink Wrap Rolls
The most common type of rolls on the market today. The film is folded in half lengthways and then placed on a roll. A ten-inch centerfold roll is twenty inches when unfolded. Below is a brief explanation of how to use a centerfold shrink wrap roll.
Unwind the centerfold
roll enough to fit the
product onto the film.

Insert the product into
the center crease.

A sealer seals the product
inside of the film.

Removal of excess
material.
Bags only require the open end to be sealed after a product is inserted. Flat bags shield merchandise such as books, magazines, CDs, and DVDs. Domed bags protect larger bulky products such as gift baskets and flower baskets.
Heat Shrink Tubing
Used to protect or bundle round products of differing lengths. Examples of products are candles and multiple electrical wires.
Our shrink wrap machines include I-Bar sealers, L-Bar sealers, hand impulse sealers, and handheld heat guns. All-in-one shrink packaging systems are also available.
SHRINK WRAP SEALERS
I-Bar sealers
Used on shrink bags, shrink tubing, or centerfold shrink wrap. The I-Bar sealer has one bar to seal the open end of the shrink material and cut the excess in one motion. Portable I-Bar sealers allow users to move the sealing bar to the product instead of moving the products to the sealer and offering more efficient sealing.
L-Bar sealers
Made for use with centerfold shrink film. The two sealing bars are ideal for use with centerfold shrink film. All L-Bar sealers available online are manually operated. Call us for details on our fully automatic machines.
Hand impulse sealers
Wire sealers can seal up to 6-10 items per minute. The flat wire sealers do not seal and cut in one motion, round wire sealers can. One motion cutting helps with efficiency and ease of use.
SHRINK WRAP HEAT GUNS
After a product seal, excess film is cut and removed, and the material must be heated to shrink tightly around the product. This heating is by either a heat tunnel or a handheld heat gun. Note: An ordinary hairdryer cannot provide sufficient heat.
Shrink wrap heat guns are for low output operations. Available with either two-speed temperature control or variable temperature control. A heat tunnel eliminates the need for handheld heat guns. A shrink tunnel can be part of a more extensive, fully automatic, or semi-automatic shrink wrap system.
