Shrink Bundler Side

The fully automatic shrink bundler is a one-piece combo system designed to package heavy items efficiently. It is used across multiple industries, from charcoal to beverages.

Two polyethylene shrink film rolls are used to cover products, with one roll held in a film carriage above and another below. The film is single-wound and comes off the roll flat. To begin, the ends of the two rolls are brought together and sealed. As packages come through the conveyor, the film covers the top and bottom. Once entirely cleared past the sealing bar, the bar closes to seal and cut the shrink bundling film. With two open sides on the ends known as bulls-eyes, the sealed package goes into the shrink tunnel to heat and conform the film to the package. Upon exiting the shrink tunnel, the product will need an exit conveyor to allow for cooling.

The 2,800 lb. machine uses a powered conveyor to feed the products into the sealing area. Operators can place a product onto the infeed conveyor and have a packaged product on the other side of the tunnel. Upon arrival, the machine will be fully crated and palletized. After the removal, the machine can be set up quickly. Initially, we recommend having our service tech train and set the machine up. Below are some advantages, specifications, and more details about the machine setup.

ADVANTAGES

There are multiple advantages to the fully automatic 800NFE shrink bundler. If upgrading from an I bar system and heat gun or shrink tunnel, production will increase substantially. Ideally, the machine will have an employee loading and one unloading products, but it can be run with one person if the exit conveyor is long enough. Seal and shrink consistency are high quality with minimal issues. Below are additional benefits of using the SFE-NF800 bundler.

  • Capable of case packing heavy products.
  • Can bundle up to 15-20 products per minute, depending on the package size.
  • Has a wide 29.5-inch sealing bar capable of sealing boxes, cases, and other large items.
  • The tunnel can fit products up to 16 inches tall.
  • Hot knife sealing technology for consistent seals and a longer lifespan.
  • Limited availability. U.S. Packaging & Wrapping tried to have at least one in stock.
  • Easy maintenance and part replacements if needed.
  • Programmable product preset options.

Auto Shrink Bundler Control Panel

CONTROL PANEL

The high-tech Dela Touchscreen control panel has easy-to-operate keys and everything you need for a high-quality finished product. The panel includes:

  • Emergency Stops (located on the control panel and infeed conveyor).
  • Green cycle start button
  • Temperature control for the seal bar and tunnel
  • Delta color touch screen-HMI
  • The automatic Mode screen includes:
  • Product counter
  • Preset counter
  • Seal time
  • Photo eye delay
  • Load Memory
  • Alarm
  • Standby control
  • Settings screen

CALCULATING FILM WIDTH AND TEMPERATURE

To determine the film width needed for your products, add together the package width and height. For example, for a package that is 12” wide and 6” tall, the ideal film width would be 18”.

Try to keep roll diameters smaller to make it easier for the operator to load the machine.

The best way to determine the right sealing temperature is to lower it until it will not detach during the tunnel passage. At this point, raise the temperature by 10 degrees until the film detaches. Running the sealer at the lowest temperature possible will help ensure knife longevity and film buildup on the knife.

Approximate Seal Time/Temperature varies by the thickness of the film.

  • 1.5 mil is 0.7 seconds at 320 degrees.
  • 2.0 mil is 0.7 seconds at 340 degrees.
  • 3.0 mil is 0.9 seconds at 360 degrees
  • 4.0 mil is 0.9 seconds at 380 degrees
  • 5.0 mil is 1.0 seconds at 400 degrees

SHIPPING AND SET UP

The fully automatic 800NFE shrink bundler comes bolted to a pallet and encased in a crate that is 142” in length, 63” wide, and 84” high. It ships dedicated freight, which means it is untouched from our warehouse to your door. Due to the size of the machine, we recommend a loading dock and forklift extensions for unloading.

Read the manual carefully when the machine arrives and follow the installation instructions.

Finding the correct location is the most essential step of the initial setup. Several factors must be taken into consideration:

  • Adequate power source.
  • Relationship to the product supply
  • Relationship to production flow
  • Safest area with the lowest obstructions

An electrician should install a plug on the end of the main power cord to ensure it is appropriately grounded.

Check the incoming voltage to the machine and connect the air line to the air pressure regulator. Set the pressure at 6 bars or 80 psi.

The machine comes with a one-year warranty. Any unauthorized modifications to the equipment automatically void this warranty.

The fully automatic 800NFE shrink bundler is available for shipping all across the continental U.S. On-site assistance with setup and training is also available.
