Shrink Packaging Systems

Professionally wrap products with an all-in-one shrink packaging system. Shrink packaging systems use heat to shrink specialized plastic film tightly around products, creating a protective, tamper-evident package. These systems provide integrated packaging solutions designed to protect products and reduce costs and are designed to provide the highest protection while maintaining cost-effectiveness. Seal and shrink packages in one step as the L bar sealer encloses products, and the chamber shrinks the material to conform to the item. The sealing process involves a heat sealer that creates a bag-like enclosure around the product, resulting in a tight, transparent seal that guards against contamination during transport. Hooded one step machines are excellent for use with low temperature shrink film, and are suitable for a variety of applications. Both manual and fully automated systems are available to meet different operational needs, and the systems are designed to run at different speeds depending on the application and product size, with adjustable cycle times for optimal efficiency. High clarity and a glossy finish of modern shrink films enhance product presentation, providing a clean, clear, and professional appearance. Shrink-wrapped goods optimize space in storage and reduce shipping costs compared to boxed alternatives, making shrink packaging a cost-effective solution. Shrink packaging systems provide protection against moisture, dust, and damage. Identifying the right film for a specific piece of equipment and application is critical for achieving a near-zero downtime environment.

Shrink Packaging System Information

Shrink packaging systems are all-in-one combo systems that allow users to quickly and efficiently package a variety of products. Shrink packaging is widely used in the can making industry and food and beverage industry for bundling drinks and sealing baked goods to extend shelf life. These systems are built to provide safe, tamper-evident packaging for a variety of applications, including pharmaceutical packaging where product integrity is critical. Many companies choose an all-in-one shrink packaging system for space-saving and easy-to-use shrink wrapping.

Shrink Packaging Systems Designed for Reliability, Protection, and Throughput

Shrink packaging systems provide an environmental barrier, protecting goods from dust, dirt, and humidity, and advanced films offer UV protection to prevent sun damage during storage or transit. They are designed to provide the lowest cost per packaged unit, helping businesses stay competitive in an evolving market, and can help reduce material costs through optimized material application. Atlantic's audit process helps find opportunities to save money, improve performance, and decrease waste in shrink film applications. SPS offers sustainable packaging options that reduce environmental impact while maintaining product safety and quality, and their resources are structured to deliver improved sustainability. Technical support is crucial for maintaining shrink packaging systems—SPS provides continuous technical support to ensure packaging systems run smoothly, and Atlantic's technical service team is available around the clock to minimize downtime.

Each shrink packaging system offers an L bar sealer with a shrink chamber. The products are placed inside the chamber, the sealer seals, and the chamber fills with heat to shrink the film. Both shrink packaging systems we offer are ideal for polyolefin or PVC shrink film. See detailed information about each system below.

48 ST Shrink Packaging System

48 ST Shrink Packaging System

The 48 ST shrink packaging system is an excellent system for low to medium output operations. The sealing size of the L Bar and chamber are 12" x 18.5" x 6". Workers can easily insert products inside of the chamber, and the 48 ST will seal and shrink the product in one motion. Average products per minute range from 2-3 per minute depending on product size and film used. Starting conditions and the precise position of components are important for optimal machine performance.

The 48 ST features heavy-duty locking casters, dual-mode switch to seal only or seal and shrink, magnetic hold down, heavy-duty chamber lid, adjustable height, easy to load film rack, pinwheel hole perforator, adjustable shrink timer, variable temp. control, and adjustable seal timer. All 48 ST packaging systems come 110v 20 amp single phase motor.

All 48 ST shrink packaging systems ship via motor freight within 48 hours of purchase. Call us before ordering to check inventory and freight costs.

76 ST Shrink Packaging System

The 76 ST is the same design as the 48 ST with more power and a larger sealing and shrink area. The sealing size of the L Bar and chamber are 16" x 22" x 8". The 76 ST enables sealing and shrinking in one motion. Average products per minute range from 2-3 per minute, depending on the size of products and film used.

The 76 ST offers the same features as the 48 ST above but runs on a 220V 20 amp, single-phase motor. All 76 ST shrink packaging systems ship via motor freight within 48 hours of purchase. Please call to check inventory and freight rates before ordering.

76 ST Shrink Packaging System
One-Step Shrink Wrap Machine

One-Step Shrink Wrap Machine (HSE-50)

The HSE-50 one-step shrink wrap machine performs sealing and shrinking in a single operation with the closing of the chamber lid. Products are placed into shrink film, positioned inside the chamber, and sealed using a magnetic hold down. Once sealing is complete, heat is applied to shrink the film evenly around the product. The system is designed for consistent performance and simplified operation, making it well suited for low to medium throughput environments.

The HSE-50 is capable of wrapping up to five products per minute, with output varying based on product size and shrink film thickness. Thicker materials require additional heat, increasing cycle time. Compared to the TL-76ST one-step shrink chamber, the HSE-50 can shrink thicker crosslinked 100-gauge films. Digital touch controls allow precise adjustments and support up to ten preset package configurations for repeatable results. The machine ships fully crated and operates on single-phase 208/220V power with a 22-amp draw.

Introduction to Shrink Packaging

  • Shrink packaging forms a core part of modern packaging systems. It gives businesses a reliable way to protect products. Industries like can making and food processing use these systems regularly. The process works by applying heat to shrink film. The film wraps tightly around each product. This creates a secure seal that prevents tampering. As a result, products stay fresh longer and arrive intact.
  • Modern packaging systems handle different production needs effectively. Small operations can use compact machines. High-volume facilities need fully automated systems. The right equipment reduces labor costs significantly. However, choosing equipment requires careful consideration. A compact shrink wrapper works well for smaller batches. Integrated lines handle large volumes with minimal downtime. For example, food manufacturers often use fully automated systems to maintain consistent output.
  • Film selection plays a crucial role in packaging success. Clear films protect products while showcasing them. This visibility matters most in retail applications. Food packaging also benefits from transparent films. In most cases, high-quality films deliver better protection. Sustainability has become increasingly important. Many companies now choose eco-friendly film options. These materials support environmental goals without reducing performance.
  • Successful shrink packaging requires more than good equipment. Training ensures operators understand the systems properly. Ongoing support keeps operations running smoothly. Innovation drives continuous improvement in the field. Experienced teams help customers find solutions that match their needs. For example, consultation services guide equipment selection. Installation and maintenance services keep systems operating efficiently.
  • The packaging industry continues to change rapidly. Businesses must adapt to meet new demands. Efficiency remains a top priority for most companies. Protection standards continue to rise across industries. However, sustainability concerns now influence many decisions. Companies that balance these factors position themselves well for future success. Learning about new technologies helps businesses make informed choices.
