Shrink Wrap Varieties

When considering shrink wrapping products it is important to know if the shrink wrap will be coming into contact with eatable products. PVC shrink wrap should not come into contact with food products. Currently, we do not offer any PVC shrink wrap that is FDA approved.

PVC shrink wrap is recommended for packaging products not coming into direct contact with food. PVC shrink wrap is generally less expensive than Polyolefin shrink wrap. PVC shrink wrap works well with machines, but proper ventilation is strongly recommended when sealing. Many businesses choose to use PVC shrink wrap bags because they are affordable and only one seal is required when packaging.

Polyolefin shrink wrap, commonly referred to POF shrink wrap is the preferred choice for many companies packaging both edible and non-edible products. Polyolefin shrink wrap is required for food because it lacks the harmful chloride that is found in PVC shrink wrap. Polyolefin shrink wrap is typically more expensive than PVC shrink wrap but has many advantages. Polyolefin shrink wrap releases fewer odors, seals stronger, and can be stored in diverse conditions.
